Criteria for Schools and Participants

Participants

Student-Athletes who have a core grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or less for the most recent school year that grades are available.
Student-Athletes that have not achieved at the proficient level on state assessments in reading/language arts and math for 8th grade.
Ensure that all first time participants have completed the 8th grade, but not have completed the 10th grade.
Ensure that not less than 30% of all first time participants will have completed the 8th grade, but not the 9th grade, and have a documented high need of academic and athletic support.
Not less than 2/3 of all participants will be low-income and potential first generation college students.

Schools

Operation Resolute Training Inc. will recruit, identify, and select 50 student-athletes from 12 target schools in the Hillsborough County School District that have been determined to have a high need for academic and athletic support.

School Eligibility

Each of the 12 target schools has a large population of students who receive free or reduced lunch (48% or more of the total student population).
A high level of ethnic diversity among students
A large population of students who reside in economically poor neighborhoods.
A “C” or lower for the School’s Grade
Low SAT and ACT test scores
